The Cause of Low Motivation
Hello,
Marlon here.
Working on your own can be a challenge.
I've noticed a lot of people struggle with low motivation or procrastination. Some people are bit really hard by it.
What I do when it's hard to figure things out is go back to the basics or the fundamentals. Instead of looking for more advanced or complicated things, I always go back to the basics.
Here's what we know about low motivation and procrastination. The root cause is low expectancy of success.
You can read a billion and one things about the topic. And you'll never read anything more accurate or profound than what I just told you.
Now, connecting the dots to changing your expectancy of success can be more challenging. But at least once you know the problem, it makes the cure more evident.
You can do all kinds of fancy things like neurolinguistic programming. But with the theme of back to basics, what works and is extremely simple to use is autosuggestion.
It has been working for people since the days of Mesmer (the word Mesmerize should sound familiar).
Autosuggestion is a very simple thing. You repeat suggestions to yourself and also mental images of what you want.
"My strength and focus grows daily"
"Every day in every way I'm getting closer to my goals"
Things like that.
Carry a jug of water around. And everytime you take a sip, repeat your autosuggestion. Do it hundreds of times a day.
Best wishes,
Marlon
