Re: What you can learn learn from my dinner last night

Hello,

Marlon here.

Last night I drove to Austin and had dinner at some place
I can't even spell.

Kanichis....Kinichis..something like that.

I had sushi...Cali roll, Unagi, spicy tuna.

There with me was Ryan Deiss (see his interview in Promo
Dash), Yanik Silver, Stacy Kellum, Johan Alanis, Michael
Kimble and a number of other astute marketers who I've
probably forgot to mention.

Oh, Derek Gehl from Internet marketing center was there
and I haven't seen him in gosh knows how many years. He looked
as young as ever!

And has no ego for all he's accomplished. His fulfillment house or
one of 'em is in Austin so he dropped in.

What's this have to with you?

Well, first of all, at Yanik's Mastermind, when the bill
comes, it's a drawing of credit cards to see who pays. There was
more than one black Amex in there.

Here are a few tidbits from discussions....I thought you
might wanna eavesdrop over my shoulder...

1. John Alanis -- he has womenapproachme.com and is a
brilliant lead generator and direct mail guy.

John and I were discussing how Internet marketing has downgraded
into the product launch of the week. It's basically become a game
like the Survivor TV show. Who can form that most laison's with
the people who have the biggest lists and can do the best
promotions.

And John commented that he thought it was because no one knows
how to generate their own leads!

I would dismiss that coming from anyone other than John. But he's
a master.

In fact, if you're heard my outstanding Promo Dashboard
interview with Daegan Smith, Daegan paid John $10,000 for just 1
day at his office, where

John took him behind the scenes. And it was the best 10 g's Daegan
has spent.

Moral of the story: Don't necessarily rely on product launches.
You still need a consistent lead generation and conversion system.

2. I was chatting with Stacy Kellum's. He had a teleseminar
going on during dinner! All pre-recorded.

He drives traffic from Google ppc and does teleseminars. He's
a great example of taking ONE METHOD and just focusing on it
until it's a highly refined machine.

Plus, I like Stacy 'cause he's as tall as I am. Us tall dudes
gotta stick together.

3. Michael Kimble was there. Michael and I go WAY back.
Michael was talking about how he spent 2 years in Dan Sullivan's
coaching program.

Before the program he worked days, nights and weekends. The
program taught him to take time off. It's a good point. Leave
yourself personal time off to recuperate.

Michael is a master of direct mail. Another guy who found that
ONE thing and focused on it until he became really, really
good at it.

4. Of course, there's Yanik. Everyone at this dinner or just
about everyone paid a LOT of money to be in Yanik's Mastermind.

Have a big ticket you sell! That's what you can learn from
Yanik. And hold seminars.

Yanik is a master of the big ticket. And a really nice guy.
Just a likable, cool dude. I forgot that he had Instant Sales
Letters rocking and rolling back in the old Boulder seminar
days.

Finally, I learned that this restaurant we were at serves up
some mean sushi.

Normally, I only like it at a sushi bar. But this was served at
the table. Fresh and yummy stuff!

Best wishes,

Marlon

P.S. If you haven't snagged your Promo Dash, you got 2 days
left to get the rest of the Ben Hart interview.

How often do you get to hear an interview with someone who
has sold 500 million bux via direct response and doing 90+
g's a month JUST from Google Adwords and ONE product?
