May I share with you a secret?

Hello,

Marlon here.

I want to share with you a secret.

Yes, I said a secret. And a secret you've never read. And
never been told.

Yet, it's a simple secret. But makes all the difference in
the world.

This email is personal.

In that it's about me. And a story I've probably not told you.

I don't know why. But since I was a young kid, I loved magic.
And I loved sales. And what later I understood was marketing.

I was good at magic. But just terrible at sales. As in I was
really, really not good at it.

My dad was a computer technician. And also serviced tv's for
all the major hotels in Oklahoma City.

In contrast, I had no abilities to do things with my hands or
fix stuff.

Anyway, in college I read Think and Grow Rich. And you
were supposed to have goals and visualize them. So I wrote
them on a cardboard poster and often looked at them.

I've got a poster board in my room now. Just the same.

Anyway, the poster back then said I wanted to write a newsletter,

travel and speak, do consulting and seminars.

Through the grace of God I've done those things and more.

I'm still not good at verbal selling. But I learned to write sales
letters. It took forever as I didn't have the Internet not to mention
AI.

Well I don't want to write a book here. But it was a long, long road
to where I am today.

I met millionaires and amazing people and marketers along the
way. I got to speak around the world. And live my fantasy.

But this isn't about me. It's about you.

Come closer and listen.

Because I want to share with you a secret. A Secret you've not
been told.

A secret that can change your life. And explain whether you get or
don't get results from your marketing.

See, in terms of sales ability, I didn't have a lot going for me. I was
probably supposed to be a counselor or psychologist. Something
like that.

But I just didn't want to listen to people's problems all day. I had
enough of my own that I didn't need other people's.

So I followed a passion. Learning how to sell. And how to market.

And this is where the rubber meets the road in marketing.

See, some customers get very frustrated over the lack of ability
to make it rain dough online. I get that. I was there a long, long
time. Too long in fact.

But I never focused on money.

It's a false goal. You don't get money by focusing on money.

You get it by getting really good at marketing and sales.

Marketing -- being able to get potential buyers to raise their
hands and be on a list. Or get a message in front of them
one way or the other.

Sales -- The art of getting money in exchange for something of
value.

People don't realize that by seeking a "money-getting method
that's done for them" where they don't have to learn sales and
marketing, they make the road to get there slower, not faster.

I learned so many things in this long journey I've been on.
I had all my hair when I started.

It was brown. Not gray.

I had more energy than wisdom. Now I have more wisdom
than energy. lol.

Anyway, all those people I've met, all those lessons I've learned,
all the biggest AHA's.

I put those in a book. I wrote it. When I wrote it, AI didn't exist.
It's my life.

My blood. My sweat. My tears.

My love and passion for this business.

For marketing.

For sales.

I'd like to share my life with you.

It'll cost you a modest amount of money. Because that's the only
way I can get you to read it and really pay attention to the
lessons and absorb them.

Honestly, you don't know what it took to learn the secrets in it.
Knocking on doors at 2 a.m. so I could make a sales so my
manager wouldn't embarrass me in front of Sandy at sales
meeting the next morning.

(Sandy was the hot sales girl who also worked there).

Putting 30,000 miles on my car in 6 months trying to sell
insurance, only to sell 1 homeowners policy on a house my
company didn't want to cover.

Writing and mailing letters with the dollars I scraped together.
Only to have nothing come back in return.

Cold calling at night for a job so I could freelance write in the
daytime.

Getting thrown at more or less of a fancy smancy ad agency
because they did image advertising not direct response.

I cried myself to sleep a night or two. Maybe a lot of nights.
I read 4,000 books seeking answers.

It was a long road. But also a magical one.

I met so many incredible people along the way. And learned to
many secrets and lessons.

I put the best of 'em in my book.

And maybe, just maybe, if you read it, you'll do the one thing that
can change your marketing success: Stop trying to turn a buck
and fall in love with marketing and sales.

Honestly, when you do that, a lot changes. And it can change
fast. Not always. But sometimes it does.

Unfortunately, most people want money in a box. To be able
to plug the black box in and have it shoot out money non stop.

Well, the only box I know is between your ears. As awesome as
A.I. is, it's still not the answer. The answer is understanding
marketing and sales.

If you do that, and get good, and I do mean really good at it,
I believe you can make many if not most of your dreams
come true.

Mine were scribbled on a poster board.

And they all came true.

I got a new poster board. And as long as God shines his grace
on me this is what I'll do.
